Claudia Tobon
Claudia emigrated to the United States from Colombia not speaking a word of English. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Rutgers University and began her career as a pediatric nurse, providing well-child and prenatal care to underserved and undocumented children and women at a community clinic in Hudson County, New Jersey.
Since 2013, Claudia and her husband, now based in New Hampshire, have run the school portrait and yearbook publishing company Geskus, which has given her the opportunity to support schools andadministrators through sponsorships and scholarships, join the New Hampshire Teacher of the Year selection committee, and provide sponsorship of the Awards for Excellence in Education. Her latest venture is the education technology startup Launch Now, which she founded and of which she is Chief Executive Officer. Launch Now is a tech platform that assists middle and high school students in discovering career interests through an interactive survey, connecting students with educational resources and real work experience with community business partners who offer diverse opportunities.
