Carlos Alejandrino
Carlos, who was born in the Philippines and grew up in Southeast Asia, received his BA from the Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. In 2017, Carlos founded a specialty food ingredients company in Singapore, where he managed finance and operations, helping scale and optimize the firm, and worked alongside local universities to improve science education, research, and career programs. He has also worked in venture capital and investment banking.
Carlos received his MBA from the Columbia Business School, where he also served as Co-President of Columbia Business School’s Student Government, managing a budget of approximately $500,000. He is currently pursuing a master’s in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, with education policy and economics being a primary area of study. Carlos sees the investment in small-to-medium-sized business entrepreneurship as a key to narrowing the wealth gap in the developing world. He believes that changing and investing in educational systems is also an imperative.
